George is the co-founder of Motivez, an exciting app which informs young people aged 16-24 about professional and social events happening across London.
The aim is for the app to act as a launch pad for the professional and personal development of young people. George’s role as both a director and head of recruitment means he is tasked with finding passionate, talented and hardworking student volunteers to work on the project.
He is also involved with the design and development of the app, along with the pitching for fundraising. At press time the app had amassed 1,500 downloads despite being available for only a few months. (Read more about Motivez on pg. 73)
George is also the projects officer of the university’s Engineers Without Borders society, which creates opportunities for and supports university students going to various parts of the world and using their engineering skills to solve problems.
In his role, George works in collaboration with the president and the first project manager to co-ordinate the development of six international team projects, stretching across three different continents, and ensuring that logistics such as financing and deadlines for filling in paperwork are met on time.
Projects he has worked on include those in countries such as Mexico, Mozambique, Peru and Kenya.
Every Saturday, he volunteers as a teaching assistant at Aspire Prep where he supports SATs and GCSE students in mathematics, science and personal development.
George recently became a youth leader at his church, where is he is in charge of leading the young parishioners in a variety of activities including youth choir and drama workshops.
