Future Leaders is an annual publication, which profiles 100 of the most outstanding black university students in Britain. It is aimed at secondary school Sixth-Form, College and University students and is used as a role model guide to inspire and raise attainment.
Now in its seventh year, all the students featured are first nominated via a nomination form, those shortlisted are then invited in for an interview at the Powerful media offices. Then the final 100 are selected, and appear in the publication, which comes out every September.
For a student to qualify for the Future Leaders list they must be of African or African Caribbean heritage, 25 years-of-age or under, in university education in the UK (IN ANY YEAR) and currently on a 60 per cent or above grade average.
Alternatively, they should be doing a post-graduate degree, having already completed a first degree, in which they received at least a 2:1.
ALL nominees must also have at least 320 UCAS points (from a maximum of three A-Levels or at least 26 International Baccalaureate Diploma points) In addition they must be doing something exceptional outside of their studies which marks them out as a person of distinction, be it running a successful business, mentoring younger students, doing something outstanding in their community or anything else in that vein.
You can nominate either yourself or someone you know to appear in Future Leaders magazine. Nominations for the 2017-18 edition, which comes out in September 2017 are now open. If you are interested in nominating yourself or someone else, please fill in the attached form and emails it to firstname.lastname@example.org
Before you do this, please ensure any candidate meets all the criteria.
Deadline for all submissions is March 30th, 2017.
